Loft Hardware Platform

The Loft hardware is simply a high-performance, low-cost, low-power, secure, small yet expandable embedded Linux platform.  The platform is ideally suited for many applications such as:

  1. SOHO LAMP and email server
  2. Home media server
  3. Telematics markets
  4. Many, many more applications.

Intel's IXP4XX family of network processor chips are at the core of the Loft hardware.  Specifically, the Loft uses an IXP422.  Prototype hardware is built and already running a Linux kernel. Specifications of the current hardware are:

Compact Flash slot holding CF card or micro drive for root file systems
2 10/100 Ethernet ports
